Fun and adventure awaits you at your Summer Camp at the ZOO!

So, you think you’re too old for Zoo Camp? Think again! We’ve just added a list of cool new programs. We offer programs for kids of all ages!Dade City’s Wild Things Summer Camps program provides a safe, clean, pleasant and caring environment in which each child may develop his or her physical, social, emotional and intellectual potential at his or her own pace while fostering a respect for animals through unique zoo interactions.

Kids can learn about nature, science and the animal kingdom while hiking through the zoo, exploring behind-the-scenes and interacting with ambassador animals.

Adventure camps include animal encounters, keeper talks, educational shows, games, crafts and more!

A Typical Day at Zoo Camp includes:​

  • Zoo hikes
  • Classroom lessons with pictures and artifacts
  • Daily animal encounters or animal enrichment
  • Activities based on the weekly camp theme
  • Arts and crafts projects
  • Animal shows
  • Animal feedings
  • Keeper talks

Zoo Camp Themes:

African Safari: Go on a safari and explore various animals from across the savanna. Meet live animals and learn all about them.

​Florida Natives: Learn the animal world of Florida. Discover the most unique and fascinating inhabitants of the Sunshine State.

Monkeying Around: Dive into the mysteries of the non-human primates and discover the differences of old and new world monkeys and people.​

One Day Camp

July 12, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

​$85 per child

Three Day Camp

July 11-13, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

$175 per child

(includes one free T-shirt, lunch and photo package)​

Special Pre-School Camps: Ages 3 to 5 years old.

Pre-registration is required one week prior to class.

Cost: $20 per child (fee includes 1 child and 1 adult)

An adult MUST accompany each child.

We offer special Pre-K Camps just for 3 to 5 year olds. These camps are 1.5 to 2 hours long. Camps fill up fast, please register early. Due to the popularity of these events, we now offer more dates, but we are limiting our space to 25 participants per day.​ Call 352-567-WILD (9453) for details!
